Thank you very much. I try to indicate character through the characters' own words rather than asserting things about them. I try not to do too much "Illya (or Napoleon) said" for the same reason. It's very reassuring to know it works (at least I hope that's what you mean).

I like the word gyre. Hadn't thought of that one.
